In March 2006, the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) started real-time operation
of the JMA Climate Data Assimilation System (JCDAS). JCDAS takes over the same system
as JRA-25, and the data assimilation cycle is
extended up to the present. Its products have been available since January 2005. Using
JCDAS and JRA-25 products enables users to conduct climate diagnosis with a
homogeneous dataset covering since 1979.
